Definition of the letter: "Old fashioned way to send information or express your feelings or opinions to someone through words written on paper is called a letter."

A letter is one of the oldest ways to exchange information between individuals. There many types of letters depending on the situation, information, and purpose, etc. Letter writing comes in business communication

Formal Letter: This type of letter is always be written according to the rules and regulations of organizations and institutions. One has to strictly follow the rules.

Informal or private Letter: In this type of letter one should not have to follow any kind of rules of any organization or institution. It is clear from the name of the letter that it is personal and it contains personal information that we want to send our friends, relatives, and other people.

Business or Commercial Letter: This type of letter contains information or conversation between business people. These types of letters are always structured, formal and are non-personal.

Official Letter: This type of letter is written with the purpose of sending official information such as rules, facts, and figures, any kind of procedure, etc. when writing this type of letter one should keep in mind the rules and regulations and official structure.

Demi-official letter: This type of letter generally contains some personal information along with official information although their main focus is always official information. People write this type of letter to the person they have some frankness with.

Social Letter: This type of letter is usually written for any kind of social purpose and this is letter is somewhat similar to thanksgiving letter, congratulation letter, etc.

Report Letter: This type of letter is usually written to send some kind of report and that can be for your client or anyone else. In simple words, it is kind of short report in the form of a letter.

Notice Letter: This letter is used to notify people about any kind of new update or about something new information and that can be new rules for the organization.

Order Letter: A buyer who buys something from you write a letter to place the order is the order letter. 

Complaint Letter: This letter is written to write any kind of complaint and it is obvious from the name of this letter. Also in big organizations at times there went wrong things and they get complaints about things.

Employment Letter: This type of letter has its different kinds such as joining letter, Promotion letter, etc.
